    [NICL(AO)2014]

    A) Rs. 31900

    B) Rs. 31927

    C) Rs. 31972

    D) Rs. 33500

    E) Rs. 34875

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Let Puneet has total Rs. 100.
Money given to his wife \[=100\times \frac{22}{100}=22\]
Money kept with himself \[=100\times \frac{20}{100}=20\]
    Rest amount \[=100-(20+22)\]
                       \[=100-42=58\]
Now, money given to his two sons
    \[=58\times \frac{60}{100}=34.80\]
    Money given to his daughters
    \[=58-34.80=23.20\]
Now, difference between the amount given to his daughter and kept with himself = Rs. 2940
    But \[(23.20-20)%=Rs.\,2940\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[3.20%=2940\]
    \[\therefore \]      \[100%=\frac{2940}{32}\times 100=Rs.\,91875\]
Money given to his two sons \[=91875\times \frac{34.80}{100}\]
    \[=31972.50\approx 31972\]
