Out of the remaining amount, he gave to his son and daughter in the ratio of 7: 8, respectively. If the daughter got Rs. 3806 more than the son, what was the total amount that Mr. Sharma had? |
A) Rs. 60000
B) Rs. 78650
C) Rs. 86500
D) Rs. 80500
E) Rs. 72400
Correct Answer: C
Solution :
Let total amount that Mr. Sharma had be 7x, |
Then, amount given to his son and daughter |
\[=x-(12+22)\]%of x |
= 66% of x = 0.66x |
Now, according to the question, |
\[\frac{1}{15}\times 0.66x=3806\] |
\[\Rightarrow \] \[x=3806\times \frac{15}{0.66}=Rs.\,86500\] |
