    [IBPS (Clerk) 2011]

    A) 9

    B) 7

    C) 5

    D) 6

    E) None of these

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

One day work of 6 women \[=\frac{1}{3}\]
One day work of 1 woman \[=\frac{1}{18}\]
and one day's work of 3 women \[=\frac{3}{18}=\frac{1}{6}\]
    \[\therefore \]One day's work of 18 children \[=\frac{1}{2}-\frac{1}{6}=\frac{3-1}{6}=\frac{1}{3}\]
    One day's work of 1 child \[=\frac{1}{3\times 18}=\frac{1}{54}\]
    Hence, one day's work of 9 children \[=\frac{9}{3\times 18}=\frac{1}{6}\]
Hence, 9 children will take 6 day's work to complete the work.
