    and present age of Shekhar \[=17x\]
    After 6 yr, age of Vishal \[=14x+6\]
    Age of Shekar \[=17x+6\]
    According to the question,
    \[\frac{14x+6}{17x+6}=\frac{17}{20}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[20\,(14x+6)=17\,(17x+6)\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[280x+120=289x+102\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]   \[9x=18\Rightarrow x=2\]
    Shekhar's present age \[=17\times 2=34\,yr\]
