Walking with 3/4 of his usual speed, Sachin covers a certain distance in 2 h more than the time he takes, to cover the distance at his usual speed. Find the time taken by him to cover this distance with usual speed. |
A) 5 h
B) 6 h
C) 9 h
D) 4 h
E) None of these
Correct Answer: B
Solution :
Let the distance \[=x\]and usual speed \[=y\] |
According to the question, |
\[\frac{x}{\left( \frac{3}{4}y \right)}-\frac{x}{y}=2\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{x}{y}\times \left( \frac{4}{3}-1 \right)=2\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{x}{y}\times \frac{1}{3}=2\] |
\[\therefore \]\[\frac{x}{y}=3\times 2=6\] |
Time taken to cover the distance with usual speed = 6h |
