    Work done in x days, then \[\frac{x}{24}+\frac{x}{30}+\frac{x-4}{40}=1\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{5x+4x+3x-12}{120}=1\] \[\Rightarrow \,\] \[12x-12=120\] \[\Rightarrow \,\]             \[12x=132\] \[\therefore \,\]                \[x\,=\,11\]
