You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and give answer What will be die cost of painting a rectangular wall?
    I. The cost of painting is Rs.12 per square metre.
    II. The perimeter of the rectangular wall is 50m and its length is 15m.

    A)  if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    B)  if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    C)  if the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

    D)  if the data in both statement I. and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

    E)  if the data in both statement I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

    Solution :

    From I. Cost of painting is Rs.12 per sq m. From II. Perimeter of the will \[=2\left( l+b \right)\] Now, perimeter \[=2(l+b)\] or, \[50=2(l+b)\] \[\therefore l+b=25\] So, \[b=25-15=10m\] Again, area of the wall \[=10\times 15=150c{{m}^{2}}\] From I and II. Cost of painting the wall \[\text{=150}\times \text{12=Rs}\text{.1800}\] Hence both I and II are necessary to answer the question.
