    If the yearly expenses on Food and Fuel for all the six persons are the same, then for how many persons will the expenditure on Fuel be less than 5% of their total yearly expenditure?

    Solution :

     Yearly expenditure on Fuel for all six persons = 6% of 100000 = Rs.6000 E's expenditure on Fuel as per cent of his total yearly expenditure = 6% A's expenditure on Fuel as % of his total yearly expenditure \[=\frac{6000}{240000}\times 100=2.5%\] B's expenditure on Fuel as per cent of his total yearly expenditure\[=\frac{6000}{320000}\times 100=1.875%\] C's expenditure on Fuel as per cent of his total yearly expenditure\[=\frac{6000}{180000}\times 100=3.33%\] D's expenditure on Fuel as per cent of his total yearly expenditure\[=\frac{6000}{300000}\times 100=2%\] F's expenditure as fuel as per cent of his total yearly expenditure \[=\frac{6000\times 100}{280000}=2.14%\] Hence there are five persons who have less than 5% expenditure on fuel out of their total expenditures.
