    Solution :

    If the radius be r m, then \[\pi r+2r=144\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[r(\pi +2)=144\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[r=\frac{144}{\pi +2}=\frac{144}{\frac{22}{7}+2}=\frac{144\times 7}{36}=28\] \[\therefore \] Diameter \[=2r=2\times 28=56\,m\]
