    Let cost price of 1 dozen pencil \[Rs.\,x.\] \[\therefore \] Selling price of 8 dozen pencils \[=Rs.\,8x\] and profit \[=Rs.\,x\] \[\Rightarrow \] Cost price of 8 dozen pencils \[=Rs.\,7x\] \[\therefore \] Gain, per cent\[=\frac{x}{7x}\times 100%=14\frac{2}{7}%\]
