    Solution :

    Given that,  and \[{{n}_{1}}=8,\] \[{{x}_{1}}=51\] and \[{{n}_{2}}=9,\] \[{{x}_{2}}=68\] \[\therefore \] Average marks \[=\frac{{{n}_{1}}{{x}_{x}}+{{n}_{2}}{{x}_{2}}}{{{n}_{1}}+{{n}_{2}}}\]                         \[=\frac{8\times 51+9\times 68}{8+9}\]                         \[=\frac{1020}{17}=60\]
