    Solution :

    \[\because \] \[r=8\,cm\] and \[h=15\,cm\] \[\therefore \]      \[l=\sqrt{{{r}^{2}}+{{h}^{2}}}\]             \[=\sqrt{64+225}=\sqrt{289}=17\,cm\] \[\therefore \] Curved surface area of cone \[=\pi rl\] \[=\pi \times 8\times 17\] \[=136\pi \,\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]
