If 378 coins consist of Rs.1, 50 paise and 25 paise. Coins whose values are in the ratio of 13 : 11 : 7. The number of 50 paise coins will be

    A) 132

    B) 128

    C) 136

    D) 133

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Since, the values of Rs. 1,50 paise and 25 paise coins are in the ratio 13 : 11 : 7. \[\therefore \] The value of Rs. 1 coins \[=Rs.\,3x\] and the value of 50 paise coins\[=Rs.\,11x\] Also, the value of 25 paise coins\[=Rs.\,7x\] Thus, the number of coins of Rs. 1, 50 paise and 25 paise are 13x, 22x and 28x respectively. \[\therefore \]      \[13x+22x+28x=378\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{378}{63}=6\] \[\therefore \] The number of coins of 50 paise\[=22\times 6=132\]
