If \[x+\frac{1}{y}=1\] and \[y+\frac{1}{z}=1,\] what is the value of xyz?

    A)  1

    B)  \[-\,1\]

    C)  0

    D)  \[\frac{1}{2}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Given that, \[x+\frac{1}{x}=1\] Or         \[xy+1=\gamma \]                                 ? (i) And      \[\gamma +\frac{1}{z}=\gamma z+1=z\]                        ? (ii) From Eq. (ii),             \[\gamma =\frac{z-1}{z}\] On putting this value in Eq. (i), we get             \[xy+1=\frac{z-1}{z}\] Or         \[xy+z=z-1\] Or         \[xyz=-\,1\]
