    Solution :

    Let the side of one square \[=x\,cm\] \[\therefore \] The side of another square \[=(x+2)\,cm\] According to question,             \[{{(x+2)}^{2}}-{{x}^{2}}=32\]        \[\Rightarrow \]   \[(x+2-x)(x+2+x)=32\] \[\Rightarrow \]                     \[2x+2=16\] \[\Rightarrow \]                           \[x=7\] \[\therefore \] Length of longer \[=7+2=9\,cm\]
