    Solution :

    Total income in 12 months \[=Rs.\,(3400\times 12)=Rs.\,40800\] Total income in the first 8 months \[=Rs.\,(3160\times 8)=Rs.\,25280\] Total income in the last 5 months \[=Rs.\,(4120\times 5)=Rs.\,20600\] \[\therefore \] Income in the eighth month             \[=Rs.\,(25280+20600-40800)\]   = Rs. 5080
