    Solution :

    Let the parallel sides of the trapezium be \[x,x+12cm.\] Then, Area of trapezium =     \[\frac{1}{2}\times \] [Sum of parallel sides] \[\times \] distance between them \[480=\frac{1}{2}(x+x+12)\,\,\times 16\] \[60=2x+12=x=\frac{60-12}{2}=\] 24 and \[x+12=24+12=36\] \[\therefore \]    parallel sides are 24 cm and 36 cm.
