The amount of concrete required to build a concrete cylindrical pillar whose base has a perimeter of\[8.8\,\,m\]and whose curved surface area is\[17.6\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]is\[\left[ \text{use}\,\,\pi \text{=}\frac{\text{22}}{\text{7}} \right]\]

    A) \[8.325\,\,{{m}^{3}}\]

    B) \[9.725\,\,{{m}^{3}}\]

    C) \[12.32\,\,{{m}^{3}}\]

    D)        \[8.675\,\,{{m}^{3}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

     Curved surface \[=2\pi rh\]and perimeter\[=2\pi r\] \[\therefore \]\[17.6=8.8\times h\] or,        \[h=2\,\,m\]. \[\because \]       \[2\pi r=8.8\] \[\therefore \]      \[r=\frac{8.8\times 7}{2\times 22}=1.4\,\,m\] \[\therefore \]      Volume\[=\pi {{r}^{2}}h\]             \[=\frac{22}{7}\times 1.4\times 1.4\times 2\]             \[=12.32\,\,{{m}^{3}}\]
