    When three taps are kept open the tank is filled in 12 hours. If one tap can fill it in 10 hours and second in 15 hours, in how many hours can be third tap empty it?

    A)  10                               

    B)  12

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

     If the third tap empties the tanking hours then, 12             \[=\frac{10\times 15\times x}{10x+15x-10\times 15}\] or,        \[12=\frac{150x}{25x-150}\] or,\[300x-1800=150x\] or, \[150x=1800\] \[\therefore \]\[x=\frac{1800}{150}\] \[=12\]hours
