    Solution :

     Let the required distance be\[x\]km. Then,             \[\frac{x}{3}+\frac{x}{2}=5\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{2x+3x}{6}=5\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[5x=6\times 5\] \[\therefore \]      \[x=\frac{6\times 5}{5}=6\,\,km\]
