    Kamal can do a piece of work in 12 days which Debashis can finish in 10 days. If they work at it on alternate days with Debashis beginning, in how many days, the work will be finished?

    Solution :

     Work done by Kamal and Debashish in first two days \[=\frac{1}{20}+\frac{1}{10}=\frac{5+6}{60}=\frac{11}{60}\] Work done in first 10 days \[=\frac{55}{60}=\frac{11}{12}\] Remaining work \[=1-\frac{11}{12}=\frac{1}{12}\]                                 \[\therefore \] Time taken by Debashish \[=\frac{1}{12}\times 10=\frac{5}{6}\] day \[\therefore \]Total time \[=10+\frac{5}{6}\] \[=10\frac{5}{6}\] days
