Two trains. 80 metres and 120 metres long are running at the speed of 25 km/hr and 35 km/hr respectively in the same direction on parallel tracks. How many seconds will they take to pass each other?

    A)  48

    B)  64

    C)  70

    D)       72

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

     Relative speed \[=35-25=10\text{ }kmph\]\[=\frac{10\times 5}{18}\,m/\sec .\] Total length \[=80+120=200\]metre \[\therefore \]Required time             \[=\frac{Sum\,of\,the\,lengths\,of\,trains}{\text{Rekative}\,\text{speed}}\] \[=\frac{200}{\frac{10\times 5}{18}}=\frac{200\times 18}{10\times 5}\]= 72 seconds
