    Solution :

    Single equivalent discount for two successive discounts \[=(x+y-\frac{xy}{100})%\] \[=\left( \frac{25}{2}+10-\frac{25\times 10}{200} \right)%\] \[=(12.5+10-1.25)%\] \[=21.25%\] If the marked price of the plate be Rs. x, then \[=(100-21.25)%\] of \[x=6300\] \[\Rightarrow \]     \[x\times \frac{78.75}{100}=6300\] \[\Rightarrow \]            \[x=\frac{6300\times 100}{78.75}=Rs.\,8000\]
