In malaria, the lever reoccurs due to :

    A)                 release of merozoites in RBC

    B)                 bursting of RBC

    C)                 formation of sporozoites

    D)                 discharge of excretory products and waste from pathogens

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

The reoccurrence of fever during malaria is due to the release of haemozoin from RBC, which in fact is the unused hematin. Haemozoin granules, which form the toxic malarial pigment accumulate in            trophozoites cytoplasm and when released, cause malarial fever.
