    During the titration of iodine against hypo, iodine reacts with hypo. The end point is indicated when the internal indicator starch is added to titrating mixture turns blue black due to unreacted iodine. Methyl orange works in pH range 3.2 - 4.4. It is red in acidic medium and yellow in basic medium Methyl red works best in pH 4.8-6.0. It turns yellow in acid medium and red in basic medium.
