The diameter of a copper sphere is 6 cm. It is melted to form a wire of uniform cross-section. If the length of the wire is 36 cm then find the radius of the wire.

    A)  0.5 cm

    B)  1 m

    C)   1.5 cm

    D)  3.14 cm

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

                     Radius of wire = R cm, then \[\frac{4}{3}\times \pi \times {{\left( 3 \right)}^{3}}=\pi {{\left( R \right)}^{2}}\times 36\] \[\Rightarrow \]                               \[R=\sqrt{\frac{4\times 3\times 3}{3\times 36}}=0.5\,cm\]
