  • question_answer
Sachin and Rahul attempted to solve a quadratic equaiton. Sachin made a mistake in writing down the constant term and ended up in roots (4,3). Rahul made a mistake in writing down coefficient of x to get roots (3,2). The correct roots of equation are :           AIEEE  Solved  Paper (Held On 11 May  2011)

    A)  6,1

    B)  4,3

    C)  -6,-1

    D)  -4,-3

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Let the correct equation be \[a{{x}^{2}}+bx+c=0\] now sachin's equation \[\Rightarrow \] Rahul's equation\[\Rightarrow \] \[-\frac{b}{a}=7\]                                                                                             ??(i) \[\frac{c}{a}=6\]                                                                                               ??.(ii) from (i) and (ii) correct equation is \[{{x}^{2}}-7x+6=0\]roots are 6 and 1
