Which of the following equation does not obey the law of conservation of mass?

    A)  \[4H+{{O}_{2}}\to 2{{H}_{2}}O\]

    B)  \[{{H}_{2}}+O\to 2{{H}_{2}}O\]

    C)  \[2H+{{O}_{2}}\to {{H}_{2}}O\]

    D)  both (b) and (c).

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

According to law of conservation of mass in all chemical changes the total mass of the system remains constant or in a chemical reaction, mass is neither created nor destroyed. This law was proposed by Lavoisier and tested by Landolt. But in (b) and (c), mass of reactants is not equal to the mass of products.
