Double membrane structure of cell are:

    A)  Nucleus

    B)                                         chloroplast

    C)         mitochondria

    D)                         all of these

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Robert Brown (1833) discovered nucleus, it occur in all eukaryotic cell. (Prokaryoa contain nacked DNA instead of an organize nucleus). Nucleus contains a nucleolus chromatin network, nucleoplasm and two layered unit membranes which are separate by a perinuclear space. Schimper (1864) discovered chloroplaso. These are green in colour and found abundantly in leaf mesophyll specially in palisade tissue. These are also bounded by two unit layers. C. Benda proposed the present name mitochondria to filamentous and rod shaped granules, oftenly occur in cytoplasm of all eukaryotic cells (absent in prokaryotic cells) these are also bounded by two layer of unit membrane.
