    A)  peroxisomes

    B)                         lysosomes

    C)         lepdosomes

    D)         losmasomes

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Lysosomes were discovered by Christian de Duve (1955) from rat liver. Generally lysosomes are .2 to .8 u. in size, spherical or irregular membranous vesicles, filled with hydrolytic enzymes. They are polymorphic. Lysosomes contain 40 different types of acid hydrolases. Lysosomes are scavengers of cells and also called as sucide bags. The main function of lysosomes is digestion of extracellular and intracellular materials and helps in autolysis and cell division.
