The variation of anode current in a triode value corresponding to a change in grid potential at three different values of the plate potential is shown in the given figure. The mutual conductance of triode is :

    A) \[l\]

    B)        \[{{E}_{q}}\]

    C)                        \[l,\]

    D)                        \[{{E}_{a}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

The ratio of change in plate current \[{{v}^{2}}={{u}^{2}}+2ax\] to the corresponding change in grid potential \[u=0\]. When plate potential remains constant is defined as the mutual conductance of the triode value. \[\therefore \] Multiplying and dividing by \[{{v}^{2}}=2\left( \frac{eE}{m} \right)x\], we get \[E=\frac{V}{x}\] \[\therefore \] \[{{v}^{2}}=\frac{2eV}{m}\]
