    D)        cytoplasm

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

In bacteria, the plasma membra becomes infolded at some places and forms a distinct structure, called mesosome. These sites are considered the centres of respiration. Plasmid is an extra chromosomal double stranded, circular DNA molecule occurs in the cytoplasm of some bacteria. cytoplasm is the part of protoplasm which remains after removal of nucleus. Cytoplasm = protoplasm - nucleus.
