What is electric flux associated with one of faces of the cube, when a charge (q) is enclosed in a cube?

    A) \[\frac{6q}{{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}\]

    B)                        \[\frac{q}{6{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}\]

    C) \[\frac{q}{3{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}\]

    D)        \[\frac{3q}{{{\varepsilon }_{0}}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Key Idea: Cube has six equal faces. Gausss law states that the flux of the electric field out of a closed surface is proportional to the electric charge enclosed in the surface. The constant of proportionality is the reciprocal of the permittivity of free space \[\therefore \]  \[\frac{\Delta T}{T}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{\Delta l}{l}\] Since, cube consists of six faces of equal area hence, flux linked with each face is \[\frac{\Delta l}{l}=21%\]
