Induction  of cell  division  and  delay  in senescence is done by:

    A)  cytokinins

    B)        auxins

    C)        GA

    D)  CoA

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Cytoikinins stimulate cell division and delay senescence by mobilizing food from other leaf parts. Auxins suppress the growth of lateral buds and play a major role in stem elongation, bending of stem towards the light side. Gibberellin (GA) hormone takes part in elongation in stem and leaves, parthenocarpy in fruits and in breaking of dormancy. CoA i.e., coenzyme A is a mononucleotide phosphate ester of pantothenic acid.
