    Ascorbic acid is called vitamin C. It is a water soluble vitamin commonly occurs in citrus fruits, leafy vegetables. It is important in the formation of collagen, cement of I bone, teeth connective tissue of blood vessels and may help in resistance against various infections. About 45 milligrams of vitamin C required daily. Deficience of this vitamin causes scurvy, break down of skin, blood vessels etc.
