  • question_answer
The weight of \[NaCl\] decomposed by 4.9 g of \[{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}\], if 6 g of sodium hydrogen sulphate and 1.825 of \[HCl\] were produced in the reaction:

    A)  6.921 g

    B)         4.65 g

    C)         2.925 g

    D)         1.4 g

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The reaction takes place as follows \[\underset{x}{\mathop{NaCl}}\,\,+\underset{4.9g}{\mathop{{{H}_{2}}S{{O}_{4}}}}\,\,\xrightarrow{\,}\,\underset{6g}{\mathop{NaHS{{O}_{4}}}}\,+\underset{1.825\,g}{\mathop{HCl}}\,\] According to law of conservation of mass ?mass is neither created, nor destroyed during any chemical change". \[\therefore \] mass of reactants = mass of products         \[x+4.9=6+1.825\] \[x=2.925\text{ }g\]
