    Yersenia pestis (=Pasturella pestis) is tin causative agent of plague. It is transmitted by rats and other rodents and its vector is alia (Xenopsylla cheopsis) which feeds on intected rodents and may bite man. Similarly, Leishmania donovani (a protozoan) causdi kalazar or visceral leisnmaniasis and transmitted by bites of sand fly-Phlebotomus argentipes.
