    Solution :

Sieve tubes are the conducting elements of phloem (a permanent vascular tissue which conducts organic food in plant body) which are elongated tubular channels formed by end to end union of numerous cells. The septa between individual sieve tube cells or sieve elements are bulged out. They are called sieve plates possessing a number of perforations (sieve pores or sieve pits) and helps in conduction of food.
