The waves produced by a motor boat sailing in water are :

    A) transverse

    B)       longitudinal

    C) longitudinal and transverse

    D) stationary

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

When the motor boat sails in water, the motor boat disturbs the surface of water forming bow waves on the surface of water. Actually these are transverse waves which are produced on the surface of water. But inside the water the longitudinal waves produced due to vibration of the rudder.
