Which of the following does not have optical isomer?

    A) \[HCl{{O}_{4}}\]

    B) \[+7\]

    C) \[HCl{{O}_{3}}+5\]

    D) \[Cr\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Octahedral complexes of type \[10.0\]\[6.1\] \[7.1\], \[{{I}_{2}}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2I(g),\Delta H_{r}^{o}(298K)=+150kJ\] \[I\] \[{{I}_{2}}\]and \[{{N}_{2}}{{O}_{5}}(g)\xrightarrow{{}}2N{{O}_{2}}(g)+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}(g)\] show optical isomerism due to asymmetric molecules. Octahedral complexes of type \[2.3\times {{10}^{-2}}{{s}^{-1}}\] and \[[{{N}_{2}}{{O}_{5}}]\] do not show optical isomerism due to presence of plane of symmetry. Hence \[{{[{{N}_{2}}{{O}_{5}}]}_{0}}\]will not show optical isomerism.
