    Assertion: Reaction of \[S{{O}_{2}}\] and \[{{H}_{2}}S\] in the presence of \[F{{e}_{2}}{{O}_{3}}\] catalyst gives elemental sulphur. Reason:  \[S{{O}_{2}}\] is a reducing agent.

    A) If both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.

    B) If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.

    C) If Assertion is true but Reason is false.

    D) If both Assertion and Reason are false.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[{{H}_{2}}S\] and \[S{{O}_{2}}\] react as follows. In this reaction \[S{{O}_{2}}\] is oxidizing agent and \[{{H}_{2}}S\] is reducing agent. Thus, assertion is true but reason is false.
