For reaction, \[2NOCl(g)\rightleftharpoons 2NO(g)+C{{l}_{2}}(g);{{K}_{c}}\] at \[{{427}^{o}}C\] is \[3\times {{10}^{-6}}L\,mo{{l}^{-1}}.\] The value of \[{{K}_{p}}\] is nearly:

    A) \[7.50\times {{10}^{-5}}\]

    B) \[2.50\times {{10}^{-5}}\]

    C)        \[2.50\times {{10}^{-4}}\]

    D)        \[1.72\times {{10}^{-4}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    \[{{K}_{p}}={{K}_{c}}{{(RT)}^{\Delta n}}\] \[\Delta n\]= change in gaseous moles. For the reaction \[2NOCl(g)\rightleftharpoons 2NO(g)+C{{l}_{2}}(g)\] \[{{K}_{c}}=3\times {{10}^{-6}}\,L\,mo{{l}^{-1}},R=0.0821\,L\,atm/Kmol\] \[\Delta n=3-2=1\] \[T=427+273=700K\] \[{{K}_{P}}=3\times {{10}^{-6}}\times {{(0.0821\times 700)}^{1}}\] \[=1.72\times {{10}^{-4}}\]
