    B) Blood sugar (fasting) -70-100 mg/100 mL

    C) Total blood volume -5-6

    D) ESR in Wintrobe method-9-15 mm in males and 20-34 mm in females

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Blood sugar is glucose, which is convened into glycogen by insulin hormone in the liver and muscles. Usually blood glucose level is about 80-100 mg/100 mL of blood 12 h after a normal meal. After taking carbohydrate rich diet blood sugar level raised. Lasting glucose value of blood is 70-110 mg/dL (decilitre) and post prependial (after breakfast) is 110-140 mg/dL. If it is higher it causes diabetes mellitus (hyperglycemia) and if it is less it causes hyperglycemia. Blood glucose level exceeds 180 mg/100 mL, it starts appearing in urine (glucosuria). About other options 15-40 mg/100 mL urea is present in blood, total blood volume in a healthy person is about 6-7 L and Erythrocytic Sedimentation Rate (ESR) in Wintrobe method is 0-9 mm in males and 0-20 mm in females.
