  • question_answer
A charged oil drop of mass \[2.5\,\times {{10}^{-7}}kg\] is in space between the two plates, each of area \[2\times {{10}^{-2}}{{m}^{2}}\] of a parallel plate capacitor. When the upper plate has a charge of \[5\times {{10}^{-7}}C\] and the lower plate has an equal negative charge, the oil remains stationary. The charge of the oil drop is (Take \[g=10\,m/{{s}^{2}}\])

    A)  \[{{C}_{4}}\]

    B)  \[\frac{22}{3}\]

    C)         \[\frac{3}{22}\]

    D)  \[\frac{7}{4}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    We know that \[=[M{{L}^{2}}{{T}^{-2}}{{\theta }^{-1}}]\] \[\Delta x=4mm=4\times {{10}^{-3}}m\] or  \[\Delta T={{32}^{o}}C\] \[\frac{\Delta Q}{\Delta T}=200kcal/h\] \[=\frac{200\times 1000\times 4.2}{60\times 60}J/s\]
