    Solution :

                    Gram's staining was discovered by C. Gram in 1884. This staining technique differentiates bacteria into two distinct group i.e.. Gram positive and Gram negative. This distinction is mainly based on the composition of cell wall.                 Higher lipid content in the wall of Gram negative bacteria causes loss of crystal violet as lipid gets dissolved in acetone.
