                    The cells of queiscent centre have lower concentration of DNA, RNA and protein as compared to other cells in die root apex. These cells also have fewer mitochondria, little endoplasmic reticulum and very small nuclei and nucleoli. The region of queiscent centre was discovered by Clower (1958).
