NEET AIPMT SOLVED PAPER SCREENING 2009

  • question_answer
The two ends of a rod of length L and a uniform cross-sectional area A are kept at two temperatures \[30m{{s}^{-1}}\]and\[330m{{s}^{-1}},\]The rate of heat transfer, \[{{Z}_{1}}\], through the rod in a steady state is given by

    A) \[{{M}_{1}}\]

    B) \[{{Z}_{2}}\]

    C) \[{{M}_{2,}}\]

    D) \[{{r}_{0.}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

For a rod of length L and area of cross-section A whose faces are maintained at temperature \[{{E}_{y}}=2.5\frac{N}{C}\cos \left[ \left( 2\pi \times {{10}^{6}}\frac{rad}{m} \right)t \right.\] and \[\left. -\left( \pi \times {{10}^{-2}}\frac{rad}{s} \right)x \right]\] respectively. Then in steady state the rate of heat flowing from one face to the other face in time t is given by\[{{E}_{s}}=0.\] The curved surface of rod is kept insulated from surrounding to avoid leakage of heat.
