    A) \[C{{O}_{2}}\] and CO

    B) CFCs and \[S{{O}_{2}}\]

    C)        \[C{{O}_{2}}\] and \[{{N}_{2}}O\]

    D)        \[C{{O}_{2}}\] and \[{{O}_{3}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The phenomenon of keeping the earth warm due to presence of certain radiatively gases in the atmosphere is called green house effect (Fourier, 1827). The name is based afrer a similar warmer interior in a glass-enclosed green house where glass panes,\[C{{O}_{2}}\] and water vapour allow the solar radiations to enter but prevent the escape of long wave heat radiations. \[C{{O}_{2}}\] and \[{{N}_{2}}O\] are the major cause of "green house effect".\[C{{O}_{2}}\] contributes 60% of total global warming. \[{{N}_{2}}O\]contributes 6% to green house effect.
