    D)                  None of the above

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Amoebiasis or amoebic dysentery is caused by Entamoeba histolytica (dysentery Amoeba) discovered by Lamble. It inhabits the colon of man and other primates. Quadrinucleate cysts of E. histolytica are infective to fresh host. The host becomes infected by ingesting these cysts with contaminated food and drink. Trophozoites are the adult trophic forms of Entamoeba, which inhabit the anterior part (colon) of large intestine of man.
