    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Rickettsias are obligate intracellular parasites ie, they can reproduce only within a host cell. Morphologically and biologically they resemble bacteria. They are rod-shaped bacteria or coccobacilli that have a high degree of pleomorphism. They are Gram-negative and divide by binary fission. Viruses are entities that contain a single type of nucleic acid either DNA or RNA and are intracellular parasites and they multiply inside living cells by using the synthesizing machinery of the cells. Fungi is a group of organisms that can either exist as single cell or make up a multicellular body called mycelium, which consists of filaments known as hyphae. PPLO (Pleuropneumonia Like Organism) or mycoplasma is a group of eubacteria that lack a rigid cell wall and are the smallest among of living cells. They are either saprotrophic or parasitic and are found on animal mucous and synovial membrane, in insects and in plants.
